Play Therapy has an evidence-base: Controlled Outcome Studies

Bratton, Dafoe and McClintock (2016) presented the evidence base for the effectiveness of Play Therapy at the Texas Association for Play Therapy Annual Conference. This presentation strives to provide a balanced view: it demonstrates the large effect sizes obtained in controlled outcome studies, yet acknowledges the limitations of the research. Regardless, the research currently tells us that Play Therapy is effective for a broad range of issues and diverse populations (Bratton, Dafoe & McClintock, 2016).
